If you've had enough of the do good messages of many Christmas tales, you will want to give this set of stories by William Makepeace Thackeray a go. Thackeray is best know for his novel Vanity Fair and was a prolific writer of satire at the same time as Charles Dickens. His main target was the upper classes of the time.
